orienteering - General race 45:00 [5]

The race went pretty good other then a few good size mistakes I made. One was primarily because I tried to take a compass bearing without my compass because I had taken it off when my thumb started to freeze. I also never really got use to the 5000 scale map throughout the race. Also the deep snow slowed me down a lot because I often chose the off-trail route. However at some moments I did feel confident with my navigation using contours.

The run was good with lots of hills and good sights along the way. My knees were only a bit sore, so I felt pretty good running/snowshoeing today.

The nav wasn't to complex last night, it was good training for sprints and planning ahead though. Last night I didn't make any major mistakes, I just wasn't paying attention and just ran near a control but not getting it. However I didn't run to hard and my knees were sore running last night.
