running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

orienteering - General 30:00 [3]

Nice training somewhere in Oakville, made sure to take at a good pace. Subtle features ...some form lines possibly to the point of nonexistence on the map. Focused on making sure I knew what features I was looking for (and visualizing them) before I saw them. Usually this was to the expense at waiting at the control before taking off on a leg. Only one significant mistake but ran back and redid the leg.

Strength 25:00 [2]

Some core in there too

running 2:00:00 [2]

Not sure about the time but nice long run with trav and tarno. Legs were a bit sore from not having a long run in a while. A few high intensity parts up hills but also tried to cut into the forest for some forest running a few times.

Strength 25:00 [2]

Strengthening mainly involving legs (I will not name them on the account I don't know their names).
Also got in some core:
- 5 min plank (1 min on each side and back, and two mins front)
- 20 push ups
- 20 sit ups

running 20:00 [2]

Wasn't needed coaching so went for an easy run around chedoke, did the stairs once and then decided to do some forest running.

orienteering - General 40:00 [3]

Compass training tonight. Went well focused on looking up, taking quicker bearings, and thumbing along. Part way through I decided to pay more attention to the actual features in the control circle because I tend to never look at that when orienteering.

running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Finally led the warm-up ...which means it was actually good and done in the right order. I must also add a superb warm-up run route by Noah.

running warm up/down 5:00 [1]

orienteering - General race 43:44 [3]

orienteering - General race 51:07 [1]

Felt sick and in general terrible so just ran the course at a light jog and made sure to thumb along.

orienteering - General race (Score-O) 30:08 [3]

Forgot to warm-up but legs felt pretty good so I guess whatever. Lost about three minutes finding the one control in the field with the all the nasty thorns but other then that fared well. Also didn't see one of the controls on the map so had to run out all the way out to get it once I had gotten to the finish.

running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

running hills 30:00 [3]

Ran down chedoke to map. Memorized 2 controls, tried to intially memorize my routes to them from the previous known control but started to take to long so just visualized the features. Then up back up the hill where I true the control circles on a map of the area. Did this 10 times with 40 burmpees and situps in there too.

Note

Finally time to relax!
Going to actually do core and strength (hopefully lots) over the winter unlike last year

running warm up/down 25:00 [1]

running race (OFSAA) 26:04 [5] 7.2 km (3:37 / km)

No word other then terrible for how I ran. Just like at JWOC how I screwed up my races due to the pressure at running at that level for the first time it happened here again. I don't know what happened but I got a good start and after the first 100m I had no energy and couldn't push myself, so from there on I kept dropping and dropping back. My team did well (4th place), but if I had a half decent race we would have easily been in 3rd...
On the bright side they should win next year so I didn't completely screw it up.
