orienteering - General 45:00 [3]

Today we ran part of the 2006 North Americans (or maybe Canadians) and worked mainly on compass work. Also I'm not sure how long we took.

ARX 40:00 [4]

orienteering - General (race/course) 2:00:00 [4]

The course and forest were pretty good other than there not being a lot of very open forest. I felt very confident on a few checkpoints today, but in general I kept having trouble spotting the flagging tape and because of this I had trouble keeping my flow and momentum. I felt I was increasing my running speed through the forest but I still have a bit too go.

orienteering - General race 2:00:00 [5]

Today was a great race. We kept up a good pace throughout the race, except through the dense and rocky forest. My navigation was good today, I only really made one mistake in the final stage of the leg of the double black diamond control (attack point/finding the control).

orienteering - General (course) 20:00 [4] 3.1 km (6:27 / km)

After the raid the rib, we ran a sprint course from the 2006 North Americans. The course was 3.1 km and I took about 18:30 to a bit under 19:00. My legs were sore from the raid earlier so I didn't run as hard as I could have. I only made one mistake where I waited for 20-30 seconds right near the control. On the other hand I planned ahead pretty well other then one checkpoint.

orienteering - General (course) 50:00 [4]

The course today was fun. I felt extremely confident on a lot of legs but on a lot them it took sometime to spot the flagging tape, and wasted a good amount of time doing that. I worked on running faster when reading the map and being less cautious on the course. I didn't do too great on the section of the map near K2 where I was slipping and falling on the hills and re-entrants.

ARX (race/corse) 20:00 [5] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)

Short 2km orienteering course, followed by warm up and cool down run.

ARX (cool down/warm up) 20:00 [3] 3.0 mi (6:40 / mi)

Apparently I have to also include this
...and I'm going to guess about 3, maybe almost 4 kilometers

ARX (running) 25:00 [5]

We ran Patrick's loop of pain for 25 minutes after a warm up. I ran pretty hard other then getting caught behind everyone in the beginning and forgetting the loop at another point.

ARX (warm up) 10:00 [2]

Warm up before the loop of pain (and other things I can't remember).

orienteering - General 1:00:00 [3]

Emil set up a course for the Westdale orienteering team, so Owen and I ran it. The course was pretty good, however I didn't run too hard because my knees were hurting.
