running warm up/down 36:12 [2]

Warming up and down on the indoor track. Warm and dry (very dry air) inside, but probably much better than out in the horizontal rain!

Well, I am disappointed with this actually. Certainly thought I would/could go under 12. It might have helped if I could have seen my lap splits (I must invest some time into the proper workings of my watch). The initial plan was to try to set out hanging with Sam, but that was not feasible. My sense is that I dropped time in the last five laps. Did not feel good during the run - it was hard work from the start. Sam, Ross and Clem reminded me later that I have not done any speed work to this point, save intervals on ice and pavement, so this is just a baseline. I also wonder how much jet-lag and/or dehydration from flying the day before plays a part. Definitely have been feeling the dryness in my throat the rest of today.
Will have to try again in a month and see where things are.
Thanks to Sam and Ross and Katja for joining me today! Nice to run with others and chat!
