Strength (PT Exercises) 24:00 [1]
slept:2.0

An abbreviated session, with L-side only, as I didn't have time and was too sleepy.

Saturday Dec 20, 2008 #

Note
slept:6.0 (rest day)

Forced rest day. Too much work and family things to do.

Friday Dec 19, 2008 #

Physical Therapy (Session #2) 1:00:00 [1]

Added some different exercises, including a 10min bike warm up, and ultra sound at the end. PT Dave today thinks it could be bursitis or tendonitis around the bursa joint. Really, this tells me no one actually knows what is causing the pain, other than that it's likely from overuse. Just that it's not ligaments, menisci, or stress fracture.

Rowing (Ergometer) 22:30 [3] 5.0 km (4:30 / km)

Avg. 2:15, @5, 296c.

Cycling (Stationary) 42:00 [2] 15.33 mi (21.9 mph)

Levels varied, Alpine Pass, 403c.

Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [0]

Cycling (Stationary) 1:02:00 [2] 18.37 mi (17.8 mph)

Level 10, Manual, 725c.
Legs felt kind of heavy.

Stretching warm up/down 10:00 [0]

Strength (PT exercises) 45:00 [2]

Logging this before I've done them. Hopefully I won't fell asleep early again!

Strength (PT exercises) 45:00 [2]

Again not much time to train. PT exercises designed to strengthen the quads. Most were done with a 5lbs ankle weight straped on each leg.

Strength (PT exercises) 16:00 [2]

Had a very long day at the UH, so never did get the time or energy to train. Managed to start on PT exercises as prescribed by my therapist, just before I went to bed. But I didn't make it through the entire program, as I actually fell asleep on the floor inbetween one of the sets!

Physical Therapy 45:00 [1]

Session #1. My therapist, Kristen, did the evaluation and then gave me a bunch of quad strengthening exercises to do. Most were quite similar to those I've done for the ITB/Meniscus issue in '06. This time though I'll have to buy some ankle weights. Total time spent was about twice as long, but that included the Q&A during the evaluation. She confirms that the kneecap isn't quite sitting right, where it's "tilted" more away from the joint on the medial side. I hope these PT exercises will clear things up where I can run pain-free again.

Spinning 42:00 [3]
ahr:160 max:184 shoes: Forte CR310

Stretching warm up/down 5:00 [0]

Strength (PiYo) 1:00:00 [1]

After spinning, tried out the PiYo class at UAF. It was a nice relaxed way to stretch things out and work on core strengthening.
