And clear and check, get the correct map (with help from the super nice workers), punch start and off again.
Trail to just below 1, lots of runners around.
Small trail to 2, but I misread the control feature (because I didn't read the clue) and am looking for the cliff, see a control next to a knoll, but can't be mine, but there is nothing else around, go to it, yep, mine, duh!
Big route choice leg to 3, although there is a decent straight option, the woods are slow sometimes (rocky) so I take the big trail option tothe east, decent attack from the ride, but a bit slow as it seems further than I anticipate.
Compass straight to 4& 5,.
and 6, see a control at cliff base, but 2 girls seem to be hesitating and I think it is the one at the parallel cliff, turn down the nose, but nothing, damn that was it, stop second guessing what others are doing!
Straight to 7, and 8,
and 9, but nothing at what I think is the dot knoll, go a bit further, nope too far, turn back and see others on top of the knoll confused, then one drops off the east side in some pine saplings, there it is (again, didn't read the clue...eastern FOOT!
Good to 10, trails to near 11, straight to 12, trail and over the hill to 13, careful compass, hit the re entrant perfect.
Tough route to the finish, went down the steep sided re entrant, but that was not going tot he finish, turned west across the hillside, but saw some big rocks ahead, and yep, big rocks, just get down the cleared area and run along the bottom, through the spectators and start streamers.
Middle of the pack finish 33 of 51, but I figured an hour would be good for me and that's what I got.
Really fine terrain very much like NE and HV terrain.
