Orienteering race (Middle Relay) 32:54 [5] *** 4.8 km (6:51 / km) +100m 6:12 / km
17c shoes: Salomon Men's Speedcross 3 - T

Actual distance: 3.47miles

Few mistakes, but again it just came down to paying attention when going full speed!

Also, I should practice more mossy-German-woods running. Certainly a different animal.

Great weekend overall - despite the freezing cold and gym floor nights - I enjoyed it very much!

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 3.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

Orienteering race (Long) 2:07:00 [5] *** 11.9 km (10:40 / km) +580m 8:35 / km
20c shoes: Salomon Men's Speedcross 3 - T

Actual distance: 10.25 miles

For my first real race in Europe and in general since last spring, not bad. Could I have kept the flow once I hit some hills? Yes. Should I have not been distracted by the orienteers going this and that way? Yep - could've avoided 50m uphill of raspberry bushes for sure. Did I actually do the H20 course instead of the H21 A Lang? Yes, but this group was actually more competitive and course longer, haha. So, not an advantage..

Despite having trained for a marathon til now, I still felt pretty destroyed at the end - reminder of the intensity of the sport. Trail running doesn't translate to woods exactly. It really all comes down to grinding through the physical exhaustion to think clearly. I need to practice this, reach that high heart rate and still make good decisions.

All this marks the end of the season for most here in SC Klecken, it isn't going to be my last. After the Frankfurt marathon, I think I'll be able to do a Copenhagen ultra. It'll be good for me!

Martial Arts (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) 1:30:00 [4]

Full body smoker here.. And then got destroyed in the sparring at the end. Humbling but definitely a great side activity to do and work on my flexibility, strength, and prep for grappling at WP.

Running tempo (Marathon Training) 59:37 [4] 9.38 mi (6:21 / mi)

Had another food fiasco, but I think it's just the German mess hall here. So for this weekend's O events I'm just going to lay off that "Mensa" for today and tomorrow.

Happy with my negative split finish tho:
Mile 1: 6:05
Mile 2: 6:11
Mile 3: 6:21
Mile 4: 6:36 (stomach issue pit stop)
Mile 5: 6:49
Mile 6: 6:39
Mile 7: 6:21
Mile 8: 6:09
Mile 9: 6:07
