Note
slept:9.5

Had an hour long nap after the race and before dinner and still slept a ton at night. I think I was tired, I wonder why, couldn't possibly have been any long physical activity
9 AM

Orienteering 1:56:48 intensity: (26:25 @1) + (16:44 @2) + (37:42 @3) + (34:04 @4) + (1:53 @5) 10.93 km (10:41 / km) +193m 9:49 / km
ahr:145 max:187 15c

Thought I would've been faster than yesterday, so I was pretty disappointed by my result. Also if I would've been 33 seconds faster I could've been 3rd in my age category for the weekend, which means if I didn't stop for water the first time essentially, but oh well. Definitely mde a few mistakes when attacking controls, mostly just being hesitant and goind suuuuper slow and stopping because I wasn't sure, but on 6 I was a bit too low so it definitely took me at least a minute extra to find the control. Also I was super tired frfom yesterday, at 6 is when I started getting really tired and stiff. I probably should get used to taking a gel or energy something on longer courses like this. Water helped, but not much.

Definitely got my butt kicked this weekend, and as much as I suffered through the courses, I'm still glad I did red because I at least got a pretty good gauge of what to expect from myself in Portugal (at least on the long) wich isn't much, but I'll give it what I got since it's in 3 weeks and I can't improve much before then. I'll still try, but realistically I'm not gonna be much more fit than I am now.

Also I've noticed it's really hard for me to push hard physically while orienteering. Like I can't force myself to run, and absolutely not uphill, I get so tired so fast while running hard. I mean that's probably because I have to lift my legs higher to get over deadfall and all that, but still, I don't know how to get myself used to pushing while orienteering.

Got to the hotel kinda late and had to wake up at a normal time so yeah not much sleep but oh well
10 AM

Running warm up/down 6:05 [1] 0.73 km (8:19 / km) +3m 8:11 / km
ahr:114 max:145

jog to start and drills because hips are funky

Orienteering 1:53:08 intensity: (22:44 @1) + (35:40 @2) + (36:09 @3) + (18:35 @4) 10.13 km (11:10 / km) +259m 9:54 / km
ahr:140 max:176 10c

Not thrilled with this run, but I'm not mad. I wasn't fast, phsically it was rough, but I kinda expected that from the climb. My navigation was good though, i had a few wonky bobbles but no actual mistakes, any time I lost was because I was slow. Also I kinda figured it wouldn't be my forte because I'm not a fan of long legs and that's all that this course was. But hey, I finished in under 2 hours.

driving forever. Took an hour long nap before my mom and Lydia picked me up at my dad's and then I drove for 6 hours before handing it off to my mom. Yeah, no run.

Running (MPEA) 25:50 intensity: (25 @1) + (1:37 @2) + (10:54 @3) + (12:54 @4) 3.7 km (6:59 / km) +45m 6:35 / km
ahr:157 max:178

felt awful all day, i couldn't think at all during physics discussion, i just kinda filled in the packet and gave up because I seriously couldn't focus, think, nothing. Then I proceeded to blank out until my next class at 1pm, so I figured if I'm gonna get a run in I have to stop somewhere on the way home, so I stopped in a park i ran in once before. Yeah, I didn't run that much, but hey, I'm glad I got out and it felt okay, just didn't really feel like pushing myself to go longer. Also my watch wanted to take 500m off of my run for some reason, like it wanted to tell me my avg pace was 8 min/km which I knew was bs because I felt like I was going a good amount faster than that (like not speedy fast, but a comfortable fast-ish-not-really-but-not-slow pace) so I checked on plotaroute and called Garmin's bluff

also first time driving the jeep since i crashed!! gotta love facing my fears but it went okay. In the morning it was a bit rough because the sun was in my eyes the whole time but now I'm practically chilling. I'm glad I got used to driving again so quick because honestly idk what I'd do without the independence it gives me

ahr:115 max:157 18c

skipping class to go set courses because I'm running out of time

(the professor drops the lowest 6 class participation grades, I'll be fine)

going very slow and focusing on being as accurate as possible (it worked) - also changed my plan like 10 times

there's still one group of controls that I haven't streamered but it's not that big and those are mostly beginner/intermediate/easy advanced controls in the one area of the map that's really well vetted so it should be okay. If I get the chance to get out there early next week I'll streamer it, if not I'll send my mom or my dad there when we go out on Friday because I trust their navigation.

ahr:167 max:199

pouring rain and cold (8 degC/45degF) ain't gonna stop a long run

i wasnt underdressed but i was dressed wrong - i thought it'd be a good idea to wear a cotton long sleeve shirt and spandex. Genius.

Proud that I (almost) ran the wholr thing. I only walked once for less than 200m on the last endless steep hill, but I gave it my best shot.

My headphones were not the vibe, they kept skipping songs and pausing them at random intervals so I just took them off about 2/3 of the way through cuz it was annoying
