Mid-Atlantic Regional Junior Team training

We had a turnout of 2 juniors today, Anna and Diana. After a warmup of "map orientation tag", borrowed from Erin, I took them out on a relocation exercise on the map.

QOC Local Event at Fountainhead

I am easing myself back into training and racing, so I did the Red course after finishing up shadowing the juniors in the morning. I had a pretty good run, though did not have aggressiveness in my step until the last portion of the course, when having people around (mostly on other courses) helped me push a bit harder. Of the legs that were common between Red and Blue, I won three out of four, which seems pretty good, though obviously Blue was a much tougher course.

I really enjoyed myself out there today and thought that Hannah set an excellent course.

Another run. Along Rock Creek in the rain. Longest pure run I've done since spring. Felt creaky and slow, and hamstrings were pretty tight, but got through it. A tiny little piece of progress.

Morning run with my friend Andy. We ran in Rock Creek and were doing well until Andy rolled his ankle on the downhill going into the Peirce Mill parking lot. We walked back from there.

I ran intervals with the Cardozo Crawlers this morning, sort of. I took it very carefully and did not push myself nearly as much as I would in a normal interval workout, but just wanted to see if I can at all manage to speed up from the slow shuffle that has become the norm for me during this injury.

We ran four 800's, with circuits and strength exercises during the rest periods.

Circuit training between intervals. This included various squats, planks, ab exercises, and so on. It was very fun to have a group to train with. I hope I can keep doing it!

Stationary bike. I've had a bad stomach the last couple of days, so taking it easy today.
