US Relay Champs, Vermont. I ran the 4th, anchor, leg for the CSU team. My teammates (Rosstopher, Zan, and kwalker) did an awesome job, each finishing their legs in the lead, so i had a good margin to work with. Still, i wanted to take no chances and run a good race. I caught Will Hawkins (who was doing the whole relay alone and beating the field) soon after the 1st control and ran with him for a few legs, occasionally taking different route choices and meeting again at the controls. I lost a little time coming into #7 (~20 sec) and maybe another 45 seconds after #8, when i left the control, ran about 100m towards the trail, then decided to turn around and return to the flag to check the control code. I got tired on the second half of the course, the loop around the field, and William steadily pulled away from me. Still, i was really happy with my race and the relay victory of the awesome Team CSU!!!
