Running 20:00 [2] 2.61 mi (7:40 / mi)

Jogging to Fresh Pond for the Park-O.

Orienteering 21:19 [5] 4.16 km (5:07 / km)

Fresh Pond park race: 2-loop mass start race. 2nd place to Kenny's 19:55. Made about 45 seconds of errors, couldn't have run Kenny's time.

Running 22:27 [2] 2.64 mi (8:30 / mi)

Cooling down and collecting controls with Audun and Kenny.

Running 29:50 [3] 4.26 mi (7:00 / mi)

Short run by the river with Jenny rollerblading along.

Monday May 6, 2002 #

Running 42:08 [3] 5.9 mi (7:08 / mi)

Harvard bridge loop. Very warm, very windy - a strange combination around here...
I am finally starting to look at summer O-plans. I think i will do everything possible to have time and money to go to Bulgaria for the World Student O-Champs in August. It looks like a very fun event, and will also be the CSU Classic Champs - the year's marquee event!!

Orienteering 52:58 [2] 5.0 km (10:36 / km)

Jogging around Pine Hill with Jenny and looking for controls we drew on the map during the CSU National Orienteering Day meet.

Running 21:55 [2] 3.0 km (7:18 / km)

Trail-running: collecting the white course with Will at Pine Hill. Periods of moderately fast running on full stomachs after Sara Mae's bagels-and-cheese lunch, followed by periods of standing around and untying the controls from the trees.

Soccer 2:15:00 [3]

Fun, long pick-up soccer game. Jenny played too.

Running 5:00 [5] 0.77 mi (6:30 / mi)

Running from the Harvard Observatory to the Agassiz School, where i left my bookbag sitting on the sidewalk when loading the inflatable planetarium into the back of a cab. Long story...But i got the bag back.

Running 10:00 [2] 1.11 mi (9:01 / mi)

Warming up for the Park-O at Hammond Pond.

Orienteering 23:54 [4] 3.25 km (7:21 / km)

Hammond Pond Park-O, also the inaugural CSU Sprint-O Champs. Kenny won with a blistering time of 21:21. I made three 45-second errors, including one on the last control which cost me second place. Oh well, 3rd in this company isn't bad. Lots of fun, great course, nice weather, good woods! Thanks Audun!!

Orienteering 37:00 [2] 4.0 km (9:15 / km)

Jogging around Hammon Pond with Matthias, William, Kenny, and picking up controls and trying not to pass Abi in the process (we didn't, though we did get to watch her ditch a large chasing dog...) Matthias goes back to Austria tomorrow. Sad. I guess i'll have to go to Bulgaria now to compete for the CSU Classic Champs.
