Good, fair courses at Middle Creek (the missing bag on 17 and 18 buried in the pit notwithstanding). Icy trails, deep melting snow, muddy south-facing hills. This event had it all. Thick green woods? Got it! Cross the state highway on the run-in from the final control? Got it! But seriously, it was a really fun, if exhausting time. Thanks to hkleaf for a really excellent event!

orienteering 20:00 [1] ** 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

control pickup at Middle Creek.

walking 25:00 [1] 1.0 mi (25:00 / mi)

hiking at Boone Cliffs. beautiful, steep area with interesting cliffs and rock formations, but probably limited potential for O'. With hkleaf, WB4SUV, and AB. Trails were icy. Actual time probably significantly longer, distance a rough guess.

mapping - field checking 3:30:00 [1] ***

updating Burnet Woods map for US Teams Fundraiser Sprint at Flying Pig XIII. Numerous minor corrections to trails, vegetation, etc.

mapping - field checking 3:00:00 [2] ***
weight:163lbs

mapping updates at McFarlan. Started making changes to trails and vegetation. Normally I count fieldwork as low level (1) effort), but the deep snow made it much more physical. Some trail updating will have to wait for snow to melt.

weights / strength (snow removal) 40:00 [3]

cleared my dad's driveway and sidewalk.

weights / strength (snow removal) 2:30:00 [3]

a little less than 3 hours work, shovelling 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm) of the white stuff. Officially, I think we had close to 6 here, but there was wind, so its always hard to tell since I get drifting and its unevenly distributed.

bicycling - stationary 20:00 [2]

3 sessions of 5 to 10 minutes each while watching 24. Had to do some household chores during commercials, so I didn't get in a continuous solid workout. Probably about 25+ minutes total riding, but I didn't bother with timing it exactly. Then had a late dinner during the 2nd half of the show.
