chainsaw and swamping. By the time I got out to Indian Creek this afternoon, Christina and her father had done most of the work. In another hour and a half, we had the rest of the trail cleared, except for two huge "widowmakers" hanging over one section. The trails are officially still closed until this weekend, though, Christina plans to bring a backhoe in on Friday to pull down the widowmakers.

Trail clearing at Indian Creek. chainsaw & swamping. About 2 hours of actual work. Got Trillium Trail completely cleared and started on the Indian Mound Trail. The pine plantation took a lot of damage and there are many large pines across the IM Trail, some of them pushing 2 feet in diameter. A few big hanging "widowmakers" too. So that trail is going to take some major work. Ranger Christina is planning to work out there tomorrow & hopes we can get through it in two days. Maybe if she brings a bulldozer...
