These shoes were better for this depth of snow - all of 1"! Put 2 thin shell mitts on top of each other, gave the handwarmer some breathing room, much better.

Seemed longer, but I was moving pretty well. Hands were freezing , one set of handwarmers failed and the second weren't doing the whole job, or at least I was afraid they weren't so I had some extra hustle in my step to get back to warm environs.
