Note

Hard slog today, although nothing that I would normally record as activity.

First part OK - up early and made the coffees to have with bacon, egg & tomato & toast with jam. Then off to the Shed to collect the caravan, late decision to add a couple of 15 litre water bottles (which I think was appreciated). Discovered that the rear shunt to the Skoda had demolished the towing electrics, but took the risk towing the caravan out to Ascot - only a couple of right and a couple of left turns required on the route.

I knew however that the next part of the plan wouldn't work, as Coates would never let me tow a toilet away from their depot without functioning trailer lights and indicators. Fortunately Dave P came to the rescue, and it meant that I could retreat to home for a cuppa and a rest.

Then off to put out controls. First 16 were a a breeze thanks to the new stands, except for the clouds of voracious mossies at every control near the water, and swarms of voracious meat ants at all the controls on the tops. Next time must use repellent, in the meantime I hope RRV doesn't eventuate.

Final 9 controls were using the old stands, which took a bit more of hammering the ground and assembling, while still being assaulted by multitudes of insects. Arrived back just in time to open the caravan before the McCTeam arrived.

Finally home at 6pm after returning various stuff to the shed, enjoyed a Knappstein lager then a shower - off now for a nap.

Road cycling 2:25:00 [3] 50.5 km (2:52 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Around the river, coffee at a different place (Choux) around the corner from the usual (Daily). Coffee not near as good, but the escargot was nice.

Road cycling 1:10:00 [3] 33.0 km (2:07 / km)

Test ride from Northbridge, out to Bassendean via Maylands, back via the rail path. Ordered the new bike, should get it next week.

Running 34:39 [3] 6.6 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: ASICS GT 2170

Kings Park short lap - did the shorter one because of the bike ride and spending a couple of hours wandering around Ascot Waters stuffing letter boxes. Considering this, pace was surprisingly fast.
