Road cycling 1:50:00 [3] 42.2 km (2:36 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Ride with JB, similar to previous routes. Had to change front tube before starting - had gone flat overnight. Going along Davies Rd a big 4wd squeezed past me at one of the chicanes (bloody traffic calming!). He then pulled into the swimming pool car park, so I rode in after him, and he was most apologetic - seemed like a nice guy who said he rides himself. Later, an old commodore towing an older boat (and driven by an even older guy) screamed past us on the bend in Hackett drive, then almost overturned as he negotiated the roundabout into RPYC, so much to JB's disgust I chased him down in the car park and as I was lecturing him, a woman he'd nearly run over in the car park joined in! Hopefully she was the wife of the RPYC Commodore, but even if not he should now feel suitably chastised and think about handing his license in.

Detoured to Runners World to buy a couple of tubes, then also collected a sour cob and Danish from the Pearl og Highgate on the way home.

Orienteering race 16:50 [5] ** 3.35 km (5:01 / km)
spiked:20/20c shoes: ASICS GT2130 (new)

Nav-Dash sprint race at City Beach, no mistakes but the course was straightforward. Couldn't have gone any faster, quite a few people in the 16s - but they're all younger than me.

Running 38:38 [4] 8.0 km (4:50 / km)
shoes: ASICS GT2130 (new)

Kings Park run, felt pretty sore at the start, but after the first hill the soreness disappeared and was able to pull away from the group. To the half way in under 20, and ran the first hill very strongly - but not strongly enough to keep Gary O at bay. He then pulled me over the other hills - probably the fastest second half I've done for a few months.

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)

Shadowed a new junior around an E course at Jorgensen Park - no major mistakes, and he recovered well, mainly used over-conservative routes. He won!

Orienteering 30 [3] 3.0 km (10 / km)

Took same junior around part of M course, explaining concepts etc. Nice kid (Saxon J, 16), seems keen (his mother too!), and hopefully will boost our junior stocks. Suggested he do E again next week by himself without a shadow, then have a go at M by himself with either myself or another coach shadowing.
