orienteering 1:35:14 [5] 9.8 km (9:43 / km) +415m 8:01 / km
ahr:176 max:188

i didn't think that i had that amazing of a race, but i ended up doing respectably well in the results. Thinking back on my orienteering though, i was super clean on taking the controls and i spiked almost all of them. Felt a bit sluggish and my main goal was just to make it to the next water control. i was so sure that i would just collapse out there so parched and whither away into nothing. quite dramatic i guess but it helped me run faster to get to the water controls. :P converged with jordan and another west point runner and we battled it out to the end. well, i don't think i did much battling, i was just trying to hang on. i have to point out though, to certain parties, that i was not following anyone, i would not even think of doing such a thing!! it would be just scandalous!!

orienteering race 33:05 [3] 4.3 km (7:42 / km) +95m 6:56 / km
ahr:182 max:198

qualifier for the middle. just a splendid race!!! nailed pretty much all of the controls and felt really super duper great the whole time apart from it being quite hot. ran past these hikers and quite loudly they remarked "hey look it's canadia!!!" yup, that would be me, just great. :P

orienteering race 52:27 [3] 5.8 km (9:03 / km) +150m 8:00 / km

missed the A final by 5 seconds, but it didn't matter much because even the B final did not go that great. #1 was a disaster, i saw the control, i just convinced myself that it wasn't mine. #2 i ended up wayy to far to the left. #3 i just had no clue where i was for quite some time. #4 i didn't miss it by much, but it's pathetic since i'd already been to that control. #5, i ended up at #6 first. but #6, oh man i spiked it hardcore!!! i sprinted there cause i wanted to see if i could win the split... and i did!!! :P teehee. After that though things went a gazillion times better despite being super duper tired. Didn't miss any controls too majorly and ended up gaining a ton of time on the last half of the course. Lots of fun having the two middles in one day, just quite exhausting!

orienteering 2:05:30 [3]

on the surebridge map. 1:15000 but i didn't seem to have much of a problem with it. took some interesting route choice to some controls which made for quite the adventure but all in all it was just spectacular!! pulled yet another tick off of me though, which made the count apporximately... 50...?!?!? holy macaroni just scandalous!! i think that they really must like me because nobody else has gotten that many. not fair... :(

orienteering 55:40 [3]

night-o on the pole brook map. super duper spooky oh my goodness gracious me! there were big yellow eyes everywhere just staring at me. yikes!!!!! made it out alive though and the orienteering itself was quite splendid!!

running 35:19 [3]

as we were going back to the van, bernie just piped up with "hey who's up for a trail run??" oooh dear... so we all went back out into the woods and ran down this really windy and 'tunnely' trail. i led for most of it which made me a bit uneasy because if anything jumped out from those mountain laurel bushes thingymadooers, then i was the first line of defence. let's just say that i was not too down with that... felt fabulous running though!! strong on the hills and following along on the map was a piece of cake!!

orienteering 1:20:00 [3]

on the silvermines map. did the controls set out on the woods for the permanent course so we spent a lot of time at the control location looking for the actual sign on the tree. bugger...

orienteering 40:00 [3]

sprint one-man relay. quite the disaster.

orienteering 1:07:00 [3]

line-o in the rain/hail. fun fun. felt really in contact the whole time cept for one part where i took an accidental detour up to the top of a very large hill... oopsy daisy.

orienteering 1:17:00 [3]

setting out my controls. doing the very exciting course. and then picking up the controls. absolutely fabulous woods!!! :)
