Trail running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 0.9 km (6:40 / km)
ahr:117 max:143 shoes: OLWAY 2004 (orange)

Before the start

Orienteering race (31st/39, Håkan E 36:02) 56:50 [4] *** 6.0 km (9:28 / km)
ahr:136 max:148 spiked:17/18c shoes: OLWAY 2004 (orange)

OK Tors Ungdomstävling - 'Official Season Opener' for 2007.
This was a youth event so I ran in Open 8 - which was the same course as Anders ran in H16.
Nice weather - a bit overcast to begin with but sunny later on - and a nice day to be out.
I had an over-all good run with only a few minor mistakes. Maybe I should have avoided going straight through the green to # 6 (30s), missed # 7 in a tricky area (2min), bad execution of route to # 9 (1min) and a bad route through some green to the last control (45s). Only one control missed and the rest being route choice problems - for a total of 4-5 minutes - is quite OK to start with.
Anders had a relatively poor race today and was 23rd 10min behind the leader with 46:40. Maria ran her first ever in D14 and had a good run except for one control where she missed 8 minutes :(

Photo contest entry:

From a club training posted in my log Aug 21 last year. This is my son Anders (left middle) and his friends doing some serious Post Training Mud Jumping (a little along the same lines as Valerie´s entry) - I took part in the actual training (also wet and muddy) but not in the Mud Jumping...

Trail running 30:30 [3] 4.6 km (6:38 / km)
ahr:127 max:144 shoes: Asics Artic Gel (2006)

Easy trail run at Bergebo. This was really supposed to be O training, but I arrived late and couldn´t find the start or any maps.
I have felt a light strain in my left calf after the intervals on Tuesday (it started when I was jogging back after intervals) and have tried to take it easy yesterday and today - mostly easy jogging to loosen up.

Trail running 43:00 [3] 5.5 km (7:49 / km)
ahr:120 shoes: Asics Artic Gel (2006)

Easy trailrunning from the clubhouse while Anders went to an O theory session in the school nearby.

Other club activities (0:45:00) 1:00 [0]

Went in and listened to the last part of the theory lesson before driving Anders home.

Road running warm up/down 15:30 [3] 2.6 km (5:58 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Road running intervals 18:00 [4] 3.5 km (5:09 / km)
ahr:144 max:151 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Intervals on Bjusanvägen, 6 x 3min (1min rest), with a big group. Elite runners and the boys gradually disappeared while I mostly kept running with Mats M, Thomas N, Mats & Marcus W for some good company.
First three intervals where uphill and very hard, the last three mostly flat and felt better. Distance for the intervals: 600m, 515m, 510m, 600m, 615m, 640m.

Trail running warm up/down 39:00 [3] 4.9 km (7:58 / km)
ahr:125 max:150 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Easy jogging back from Bjusan after the intervals and the easy walk/jog between intervals.

Stretching 10:00 [0]

A little before the intervals but most of it after.

Trail running warm up/down 15:15 [4] 1.9 km (8:02 / km)
ahr:131 max:143 shoes: Asics Artic Gel (2006)

Trails from home to the start of the course - uphill as always, which explains my high pulse.

Orienteering 54:10 [4] *** 5.3 km (10:13 / km)
ahr:132 max:148 spiked:11/12c shoes: Asics Artic Gel (2006)

Same as last Sunday - but a different course, this time D20L from O-ringen 1999. A lot easier to run with lots less snow in the forest - still quite a bit in places though, and the crust still strong enough to carry my weight.
Noticed on #7 that I had 'found' last week´s #7 on an unmarked knoll about 30m from the correct spot as I spiked it today from another direction. Missed the next instead that I spiked last week...
I felt strong today, my guess is that the relatively easy week has something to do with it - and the spring feelings :)
Beautiful day today - watched TV from the last competition of this year´s XC Ski World Cup in Falun in the morning - or most of the day actually (as I did yesterday instead of training...) - but felt I had to go out in the sunny and warm weather. Freezing in the morning (-4°C) but very warm in the afternoon (+17°C !! according to the official weather station).

Trail running warm up/down 11:00 [3] 1.5 km (7:20 / km)
ahr:130 max:139 shoes: Asics Artic Gel (2006)

Back home again...
