Snowboarding (Backcounty) 4:30:00 [3]
shoes: Prior Khyber - Splitboard

Another day, another buncha vertical feet. Did some laps at the Gorge in Sicamous with Bart J., Mike, and Veronica (Team Wild Rose pretty much).

An all glade day with some nice "kickers" to get some air. Moving my stance back made things easier on the descents.

Good way to finish off 2006.

Now a bath and in bed by 6:00 pm most likely:-).

Other side of the highway this time - Grizzly Mountain. A much better day in regards to terrain - even got sunburn. Ascended immediately for 2000m to summit then dropped off a different side to 2000m of bliss. I was way more in my element - though breaking trail with the big fatties on my feet (no matter how many people are ahead of me) is very tiring. The descent was a dream - and I managed to get some air off various terrain features just to show the skiers that there is a reason I'm not converting.

Up and down, yes! The traversing bit - blah? Ended up walking out to Trans Canada and walking along shoulder of road for a km or two.

Roger's Pass with the group of 7. I chased the skiers all day on the ascent to Young's Peak. They collectively decided that a long tour was in order - ie 6 hour, 2000m, 9km climb. We ended up turning around at a cornice that blocked our route at the top peak and came down the way we ascended. Not the best of descents unfortunately, combined with a long ski out at the bottom. Really put my gear and lungs to a long test. Absolutely exhausted and sore at the end of the day.
