Classic Champs, Day 2

One for the trash heap. Lost maybe 45s on the first control - though I did see Greg, evidently heading to 13. I said "Go Greg!" in my head. Then made a massive parallel error on the way to 2, and never really got into the game after that. Physically tired, hamstring acting up, poor focus. I also for some reason found myself constantly fighting my compass. It's a mystery to me how I can orienteer near the peak of my ability one day, and near the bottom of it one day later. Saturday I traveled about 12k on a 11k course; Sunday I traveled close to 13k on a 10k course.

So, I never did figure out the Classic Champs; this is my third year in a row with an epic fail to turn in a reputable result on one of the two days. The only explanation must be that as a card-carrying millenial with the requisite short attention span and disdain for traditional sensibilities and an honest day's work, I find it onerous and pointlessly repetitive when I'm asked to do a thing, then do the exact same thing again in immediate succession. I just passed this exam, why am I taking it again? So over it. Much rather eat my avocado toast at my trendy brunch spot, then go chill with some video games and wait for the world to offer me endless possibilities on a silver platter. Good riddance, Classic Champs.
