Beautiful day today, so I went for a nice long run. Nothing fast, but it was fun just to be outside.

Core 15:00 [3]

Stretching 10:00 [0]

I think stretching more has been helping with my tightness!

Free Weights 10:00 [3]

Running tempo 34:00 [4] 4.5 mi (7:33 / mi)

Felt pretty good today, maybe even better than this weekend of course I didn't have to navigate. Guessed on distance.

Running 13:00 [4] 1.9 mi (6:50 / mi)

Running hills (Hill Repeats) 20:00 [5]

Haven't been doing enough hill workouts lately, and regretted it in Kansas. I think I need to revise my schedule. I had hill workouts on Thursdays, which is my busiest day in the school week. Usually if I had time to go running I didn't feel like doing hills. I might start doing it on Mondays.

Running 20:00 [3] 2.29 mi (8:45 / mi)

Pretty snowy in the last part of my loop, so I was slower.

Stretching 5:00 [0]

Note

I seem to have plateaued in my fitness lately. Although I did well this weekend in the IC women division, I still got my butt kicked by a lot of the M50s and 55s and I'm embarrassed to say that probably not all of it was navigation. Anna suggested more tempos, so I think that I will try to get a few more in my schedule. Part of it may have been that I haven't been doing very much terrain running lately either, so I may have hesitated more and taken longer to choose paths through the woods. My splits may have been a little faster too if I'd had more confidence- I second-guessed myself a lot!

Looks like it's going to be a long week as far as school work. I got behind by being gone on Friday and this weekend. I have some pretty long nights ahead of me this week. Hopefully I'll still be able to get a good amount of training in. At least I have spring break next week to catch up on sleep.

Orienteering race 55:56 [5] **** 5.7 km (9:49 / km)

IS/IC Champs Day 2 - Pretty clean race for the most part, with my worst error being around roughly 2min. I had a few other baubles here and there, but I feel like it went well. I took careful compass bearings, and I think I thumbed better than yesterday, which was important on this course where there were a lot of small trails for me to cross and it was easy to mix them up. The hills slowed me down again. I'm hoping to do more terrain runs now that the snow has melted some.
