I almost didn't make it to this meet due to car trouble. The car was making weird noises as I drove to the Greenbelt Metro where I met the car pool group. Just before I got there the engine light came on and I started to smell something burning. I put it out of my head until I got back to my car. It started up fine. The engine light didn't come on again until I was almost home.
This year's edition of the Susquehanna Stumble was a little less difficult and definitely shorter than I expected it to be. I didn't have any trouble navigating. I overshot one of the controls (G) but not by much and I found it after circling back around. There was someone out there making a new trail while we were orienteering. I didn't see him at first, just the trail which left me a little confused.
Most of the controls seemed to be on boulders or charcoal furnaces, which is very different from QOC meets where it seems that most of the controls are placed in re-entrants.
We had lunch, at my suggestion, after the stumble at Isaac's Deli. It was a small group of us, just 8. Everybody seemed to like it.
