Orienteering race 34:38 [4] 2.6 km (13:19 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia
Again, overwhelmed by the huge crowds, I was in a chute with 4 others. I walked until I found myself and was comfortable with the map. I was running and seeing the map well until about control 5. I slowed down the pace then to match how fast I was seeing the map, still made a bunch of small errors after that, like over-running a path interesection.
This time I made a mental note to relocate immediately when I did not feel like I had map contact.
This sprint was one of the most exciting meets I have been a part of. Running in a "village" type atmosphere with 100's of other runners going in all different directions. You really had to keep your mental focus and not be distracted by what was going on around you.
