Finishing the CT XPD. I had to talk down the petulant racer as he tried to show dominance on the bike leg (he doesn't have the legs so it was just a sad showing really), and we finished without too much stress after that. Beer and ice cream at the finish after a wash in the river while boarding. A perfect finish, really.
Great job Rev3! Well, except for the earlier lack of lake oversight that put some teams in danger on day 2.
I had pretty clean navigation except for two smaller issues and one awful mistake. But the nav in this race was fairly easy.
A strange day mixed with fun and stressful. Bike, trek, bike, trek. The teammate showed us who he was, that he wasn't interested in doing any real competition and that he wanted to coast to the finish. But the convenience store and iced Gatorade, coke, and chips were Awesome! Hot day.
8 hr Canoe from hell. A strong tailing wind that became a wicked head wind that drove us to shore where we had to walk the canoes up part of the way. And a first thing in the morning avoidable, stupid map mistake that cost us an hour of time while cycling the road. Today is also where we starting to really see the one guy show he was more interested in finishing than competing. Which is not how he sold himself, I feel.
