I finally got a map holder for my bike as a gift. I had to try it out. It was great. I like being able to read the map while riding and now I want to use it for an event. Next on my list for this fall is some O shoes.
Much cooler today. I recommend getting out doors today. I had to deal with quite a few bugs though. Gnats and deer flies.

Maybe it was premature to think that I could run a blue this weekend. After about an hour in, I could not run anymore. I don't think it was the heat that bothered me, I just had no energy anymore. My navigation was not that good today either. Joe caught me at control nine, and I didn't really run at all after that.
Here is quick route QR. Major mistakes were at 3, leaving 14 (very dumb) and 15.
We used pace counting somewhat successfully at times and payed better attention to distance. However, this event had significantly more elevation than the last two. I did not consider that in the planning stage.
