aqua-jogging 1:06:02 [3]

Had to go over to Clayton today since I didn't feel like getting up early this morning. A change of scenery is always good.

achilles stretching 6:00 [0]

did other stretches later. Achilles stretches weren't right after aqua-jogging either.

cycling 1:10:48 [3]
ahr:146 max:162

Came back from my trip today. I was wary of the cycling after Friday, but I decided to try taping again and see what happened. I did it looser and it didn't bother the outside of my foot, and my arch felt good. I'll see how it feels tomorrow. I'm gonna take a risk and not go to morning swim--I need my sleep--so hopefully the cycling works.

It was a nice day out, and I got to listen to music in the sun, in 50 degree weather, with a nice breeze. My butt and adductor muscles were sore, but they felt better on the bike. I was puzzled at first since I didn't exercise at all down at the cabin, but then I realized that it might be from getting piggy-backed down a long rocky trail from some bluffs we hung out at. I can't think of anything else.

Anyway, no exercises tonight. I think my legs would benefit more from just resting.

aqua-jogging 1:30:44 [2]
ahr:126 max:145

Had to go to Clayton for an unexpected aqua-jogging session. Now that I'm 18 it's $10!!!

cycling 10:00 [3]

The plan was to try a 20 minute run followed by a 70 minute ride on the trainer for my long day. Halfway down the driveway I decided that running wasn't a good idea, then 10 minutes into the ride my foot started hurting a bit again. Not really painful, it's just that I could tell that it wasn't 100% alright.
I had to wake up my dad and have him drive me to Clayton in time to do my long run of the week and then leave for a cabin camping trip at 9:00. I was glad I packed ahead of time!

running 18:10 [2] 1.9 mi (9:34 / mi)

My run went well! I did the team's warmup on the track, and my foot didn't hurt at all. I'm gonna try another 20 minutes tomorrow morning if it still feels good.
I also got to time Group 4's workout. It was weird to be yelling out times and having to pay attention to what somebody else was supposed to be doing. It was good to see the team again.

Workout. The team did 5x1000, 200 rest.
I did 5x3:45, 1:00 rest. When I was watching Ali, she was really struggling, so that motivated me to run extra hard today. It felt good, especially on the last 2. I think I've forgotten how hard workouts are.
I forgot the HR monitor; it would've been really interesting to see what my workout looked like, but I think it was good that I had nothing to distract me. I think I'll try not looking at it during workouts, only after.

Shortened because I didn't hear my alarm clock, then I had to walk to the nat and got there a bit late. Also, Ben doesn't let me stay in past time. At least not in the mornings. I could've used a longer warmup, though.

Steady state. This time I didn't forget about it! I wanted to quit halfway through and then was kind of lackadaisical (spelling?) about it until I had 15 or 20 minutes left and hammered the last couple "miles." A little mentally worn-down from lonely workouts.

after aqua-jogging. Not many other stretches.

knee exercises w/ 5 lbs. I think it's time to move up to 6 lbs, but my weights only go up to 5! I guess I'll have to figure out how to put 2 on one ankle.
Stretched quads and hip flexors afterwards.
Then I did 10x20 sec ball-squats and 20 step-downs on each leg.

aqua-jogging 23:00 [4]
ahr:160 max:183

When I'm aqua-jogging, I use HR to look at my workouts instead of pace, so it makes more sense to include my recoveries in my workout times instead of my warmup times.

Today was 4x1200 for the distance team, but it was so incredibly hot that Crowe shortened their workout and made the times longer. And the recoveries longer. That's why my intervals were 5 minutes (nobody from my group showed up, so I got my brother to guess what they would've been running.) but I kept the recoveries at 1 minute because I feel like I recover more quickly when I'm aqua-jogging.

So I was all prepared to go to the nat and do my workout when I found out that there was a water polo game and open swim was cancelled! First I went to watch the game, and then my poor mom had to go to the Y with me and sneak me in on her membership again so I could do my workout. I don't know what I would've done otherwise.

Then the heart rate monitor started acting up. I think the aqua-jogging belt was pushing on the strap or something, because after I adjusted it the graph looked normal. I'm glad Crowe's made us do so much stuff not paying attention to time or anything, so we know how workouts are supposed to feel.

It was an exciting evening, not that I'll miss aqua-jogging when I'm all better.
