Orienteering Race race 2:11:14 [4] *** 11.4 km (11:31 / km) +375m 9:53 / km
spiked:9/17c

US Long Championships at Thacher SP near Albany, NY. Ran pretty cautiously to protect the knee - which ment a lot of trail choices. Found out a lot of others opted for these trails as the best routes. Started after PR and DW, but ran them down by #8. Knee hurt a bit at that point, so I stayed with them for a while. By the time I felt better, I would have looked really bad ditching them, so I stayed with them until the end. Rest day tomorrow.

Trail Run 1:00:14 [2]

Managed to do an easy trail run along the Palisades without too much pain. Had to go with the run 10 minutes, walk 5 minutes and repeat until done technique. Expect to be able to run on Sunday, but I give it only 50:50 that I will complete the entire course. Will be playing this one by ear..

Fitness Center 40:00 [3]

40 minutes on stairmaster as a replacement for running. No left knee problems during exercise. Some soreness afterwards.

Fitness Center 1:06:00 [3]

30 minutes on stairmaster and 36 minutes on bike. Light lifting between the segments. No pain in the left knee, but some interesting sensations, including itchiness.. Hmmm.. Guess it's about 50/50 I run this weekend and then I will probably need to slow up a bit to protest the knee. I can't see any running in my future, at least anything even remotely hard..
