Orienteering 1:30:13 [3] 7.85 km (11:30 / km)
shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

7.8km on a 6.6km Red - 119%
a bunch of little errors and distractions from running next to other o'ers.
looking at my GPS, I don't like my route on the 2nd half of 11-12 leg. I should have gone right when I hit the train and attacked from the top. I looped to the bottom and ended up low on the road and missed a clean attack coming uphill.
Happy with 14-15 even though I walked it. Right up over the top and straight down to the control.
Messed up going to 16 ans I followed the open area (dry swamp) and it pushed me left of the control.
Best score this year but I felt sloppy and dont think it was my best event of the year.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 2.5 km (24:00 / km)
shoes: inov8 x-talon 190

Delmont map recon for course setting Nov 16.
I may have to rethink the start - trails are not as defined as I would like for the easy courses.

Walking 12:00 [3] 1.2 mi (10:00 / mi)

Note

Just got to enter my RG info. for Hickory run.
I drifted off my bearing 7 times (5 to the right and 2 to the left) 4 of those were partially caused by nearby orienteerers. 5 were drifts uphill, one where I got pulled off by a stream, and one being distracted by other orienteers.

My pacing is getting good. I approached several controls or features on the Stumble on my exact count. I need to focus on holding the bearing and ignore other orienteers.

Note

20 minutes in a hot tub... made me feel like jello but I was not stiff after that.
