Running 1:10:00 [3] 4.7 mi (14:54 / mi) +1400ft 11:37 / mi
shoes: Pearl Izumi N2 Trail, #3

Damn, I felt GOOD today. I am constantly amazing that, even though my legs are tired the day after a long run (i.e., tired on Sundays, after my Saturdays), Sundays seem to be my strongest runs.

I flew for 3 hrs this AM and thought my mid afternoon jaunt would thus be shitty (hate starting runs any other time besides the morning). But I was wrong. Kept an empty stomach, and flew up to the summit of Nugget Hill and back. Prob my fastest time. MA and Berlin joined me. My foot feels better, in part probably associated with fact that I started a course of Cipro this morning (THANKS MOM!). The drug of choice for sea-creature induced bacterial infections, or so the medical literature says....

Running 3:54:00 [3] 17.7 mi (13:13 / mi) +3009ft 11:23 / mi
shoes: Pearl Izumi N2 Trail, #3

First big run of the season. My foot is still swollen from the manta ray slice/infection over spring break, I am still coughing from my head cold, I am definitely out of long distance running shape....but truth be told, I was happy to get my ass kicked. Needed it badly.

Up the cloudline, across Walker Ridge to Gold Lake, then took the forest service road to the peak to peak highway. Turned around and headed back.

Very little snow. There was a chill in the air to be sure (highs around 40 to 44ish), but it felt terrific. I didn't see a single person. My kinda day.

Running 1:17:00 [3] 8.0 mi (9:37 / mi) +500ft 9:05 / mi
shoes: Pearl Izumi N2 Trail, #3

A warm morning 8 miles at BVR on the trails, but I'm still not back to normal. (A) still sick after 1.5 weeks, and it is getting tiring. (B) My foot is still infected from the Manta Ray, and it is even MORE tiring. I might have to actually go to an American doctor tomorrow bc I'm just plain sick of the swelling and the pain, even when walking, let alone running.

Win some lose some.
