Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Patrick put on a mini Scramble for the Wed. Night Brooks Run! He was totally spot on in understanding his audience by making it "find as many as you want in however much time you want." I find that a majority of runners don't actually want their intellect or skill on display, so it's attractive to have features that dismantle the competitive aspect. Other "adventure runs" build in luck via wacky tasks, etc. Patrick made it an open-ended tour of fun things in the neighborhood.

But of course, Linnea and I are orienteers, and we wanted structure, and for it to count! So we put a 30 minute time limit on ourselves and raced head to head. Linnea got 10 checkpoints with 2 minutes to spare and I got 11 checkpoints but was 22 seconds late, thus losing a point. So we tied at 10!

It was a beautiful day and a fun run. Thanks, Patrick!

Road Cycling 55:00 [3]

Round trip to/from work.

Sunny sunny! And didn't overheat in my wool jersey.

BHC 15:00 [3]

Back in the gym!

Did an abbreviated version of the new March routine. I think I've been avoiding it a bit, because the new core work on TRX is friggin' hard!

Knees to elbows. Sheesh.

Also have some posterior stuff to do, which is good, since I'm so overdeveloped in my quads.

A little tweaky in my inner right hip flexor. That inverted-plate-sit-up thing is serious! It probably shouldn't be the first exercise I do when I arrive in the gym.

Felt a small twinge in my outer right hip the other day, the day after my short pavement run. Sigh. Maybe if I add only little bits of pavement running and be very diligent about not going too far, and use the foam roller a bunch... maybe, just maybe I can pull off running around the neighborhood regularly.

I'd like to add rowing on the erg and punching the speed bag to my routine too, as another way to get cardio. And obviously, I can ride my bike. :)
