Course marking Rattlesnake Ridge Run. Towed by Eric up Rattlesnake Ridge, then ran/shuffled down. Started around 8 or 9pm, got to the other side around 3 or 4am... Headlamp works good. Got a lot of time on the feet. No blisters-- I don't get blisters trail running, just orienteering. Or maybe, just in my Inov8s.
Right achilles wanted to complain on the way up, but no problems stuck around.
Walked to Gina's, then to Blue Highway on top of Queen Anne! 'Twas a fun walk. We played cribbage at the store (I re-learned how). Got a ride from Kate home. :)

Ok, that was weird. My HR monitor was telling me that I was running in the 220s frequently, which sort of freaked me out. I felt like I was working hard, but not like I was having a heart attack! Unfortunately, it messed with my race and I slowed down and let my HR come back down to happy numbers to assure myself that I wasn't going to have a heart attack on the course. I kept thinking about it for most of my run. If I didn't have my HR monitor on, I would have just kept running at a good clip. Ah, well.
At least a good clip felt good, and the forest was beautiful.
Also-- the tiny trails being basically unreadable was interesting. I thought of it as an exercise in forcing myself to look at the map only when I really had to. So I would think of what kind of information I needed, then I would stop for 3 seconds and look, then keep running. Not a bad thing to practice, since I usually look at my map constantly for no particular reason. I mean, I shouldn't actually make a habit of stopping to read the map, but that's what I felt like I had to do-- so I made the best of it.
Hip feels ok! Was a tiny bit tight after running with Gina, but ok today. We'll see. I still want to avoid running 2 days in a row.

Met up with Gina and joined her for an up-an-over Phinney, through Woodland, and 'round the inner loop at Greenlake run. It's so nice to run with company! (Good company at that. :)
Also ran to Gina's, and to Zayda Buddy's afterwards to meet Kate and her friend.
Felt remarkably good for not having done much running recently.
