Orienteering race 1:38:11 [4]

Was running decent with Katrina, Caroline, and Pauliina (?), then I took a different route to 11, didn't benefit from seeing it from far away (which the other approach had), and blew it with a 25-minute split looking around at unmapped rocks. Ah well, gotta keep humble!

It was a good day overall. SO GLAD I ran short advanced. Enjoyed the ferny exfoliation, felt good while running, found things in the woods, and I love our community.

Some good route choices, some silly.

OrangeTheory 50:00 [4]

Did weight room first, and had to finish it with a 1200m row. HOLY moly, my abs were gone from what we did in the weight room, and it's really hard to row when your abs are gone!

Then on the treads, the longest block we've ever done: 12 minutes at push! Holy moly. Started the first 8 minutes at 8mph, then started dropping .2mph every other minute or so. Could not push during the next shorter set, but I did hold my all out at 10mph for a full minute even though I was wrecked.

The somewhat ironic thing about OrangeTheory is that I work SO HARD in class, and sometimes I get into the swing of it and do classes 2 days in a row and right after an orienteering weekend or something... but then I take a week off and do nothing because... I worked hard?

So, I'm either working hard, or super lazy. Hmm.

That 12-minute block, man. Wow. Too long!

34 splat points, 22 in the red zone.

Yay, I love it when we add short rowing intervals into the running block!

We ran .2 of a mile at "push pace" then had to hop on the rowers for 200m, then back on the tread for .2 at push again. My push pace is 8mph right now (and I need to start sneaking that up), so I'm one of the first handful of people to get off the treads... but what's really fun is that for 200m I can row 240 watts, so I get off the rower really early, which makes me feel snazzy. Good job, crazy quads!

I could really feel yesterday's o' race in my legs during the first couple rounds of pop jacks! Wow, I think that's the most my quads have burned in class!

Orienteering 56:04 [4]

Whoa, I was out of control for the first 6 controls. Was in a panic running to 2, super-botched 5 and 6 with what I think were 90-degree errors. Finally got my shit together by 7. I am maybe running faster than I'm used to?

Excellent course by Patrick.
