Slick day on the trials. Not sure which is more sore: my calves from my first race in spikes this season, or my hamstrings from such a slippery and cold run yesterday. Anyways, trails were lovely!!

Pain in my lower leg at 50mins. But my big toes/balls of my feet were very very sore :(

Running race 31:33 [5] 8.0 km (3:57 / km)

OUAs XC.

Well, the weather was pretty sucky and the course was slick, but I managed a really great race despite the conditions. I had a great start and was feeling really strong until about 5k. I kind of zoned out for a K and then rejuvenated to come back for the last 2k and finish 27th overall, and 3rd place on our team. And so close to passing my old high school teammate on the line! Our top 5 girls were very close together and managed a 6th place team overall. Our boys WON overall - first time since 1964!! So hype!!

Off to USports in 2 weeks and i’m so excited!!

Note
(rest day)

Just not feeling it. Body still feeling a little tired, and with OUAs tomorrow I figured it might be best to just stretch and roll and chill a bit.
But ready to #send it tomorrow!

Easy run plus 4 strides in spikes. Still not convinced of wearing them during the race this weekend. Lower leg was a little angry by the end.
It was dark still at the start of my run and I forgot to put in my contacts so that was a lil sketchy on the trails!

4x 4mins with 90s rest.
Rest 5.
2x 2mins with pick up halfway and 1min rest.

First workout in a while where I felt really solid and that I wasn’t feeling like I had to work too hard but my HR was high af? Lol okay. Look at the HR track, it’s really odd. But seriously, felt strong tonight. First 2 4mins it felt like someone was sticking pins in my leg where I’ve been having problems but it went away. Not the sharp pains I’ve had before... odd. Feeling a little dizzy and had some cramps down the backs of my legs during the last 2minuter.
Opted to not put on my spikes for the last 2x2mins. I might not even race in them until Nats. It’s just not worth it to me.

Running 22:00 intensity: (52 @2) + (16:12 @3) + (4:56 @4) 4.02 km (5:28 / km) +39m 5:13 / km
