Green Corn Moon w/Mark
Course felt very similar to last year because the park is only so big. We did the southern portion in a similar manner to last year but went in the reverse direction up north. It worked out well since more of the northern section which we did in the dark was on trails. We had clean execution throughout with 1 minor stumble.

Started my watch late but we were smarter about leaving the start on the correct trails this time. When we got to Rocky Rd we searched a little for the bonus control. Had we gone a bit further we might have even found it and saved ourselves some time later.

On the SW corner we almost blew by a spur but realized it pretty quickly and confirmed it. We attacked over the spur along the southern edge and mistook which saddle we crossed at first but realized eventually. Didn't cause any delay just some time to realize what we had done.

Refilled water after about 2 hours and realized I dropped a bottle. Luckily Mark was carrying a spare. Came back N and adjusted for where we were told the Bonus control was approximately and pretty much hit it just right. That's when it started getting dark.

We made it all the way to the N end fine. We went around the big hill in the N which I think was smart. Nailed the NE point. THen had trouble following the trail towards the campground. Neither of us remembered the trail being that vague last year. We were looking out for the next intersection though and missed it. i noticed the trail getting familiar to where we didn't want to be. Since we weren't confident we were on the trail we bushwhacked up to the campsite and then reattacked down the trail to the CP. WE could have just turned around and hoped to have found the intersection. Probably would have been worth saving the 7 minute trip around.

Ran roads and trails through the dense veg sticking to the best surface possible. We did find a nice footpath to get us through the one bushwhack we needed to do.

Took us longer but we did 1+ mile more than last year and 700' more climbing. AP's elevation adjusted pace is almost identical.

Clover Hollow
Planned to come down some of Mtn Lake but missed a turn on Clover Hollow. I had forgotten about it until I got to the turn after it and then remembered and figured that was it but realized my mistake when I got back to the covered bridge. Not a big deal. It was my first time riding Clover Hollow in this direction. It probably saved my legs a little bit.

My first workout in over a week. Giving my ribs a rest and was just pretty busy so I didn't feel the need to push it. Riding definitely (w/o aggressive climbing) doesn't bother them though. They are still noticeable but not bad. Will stick to some long rides and easy runs for the next week or two.

Temps were decent. Not as hot and humid as I was expecting. There was a pretty significant breeze, maybe 10mph.
