Winter Wildcat Course Clearing 20F at the start but felt warm so I didn't even bother with the arm warmers. Save me from having to carry them 90% of the way.
Had trouble with the first 4 controls once I got inside the circle. Just didn't hit either of them right.
Most of the rest of the day was very clean. Stopped many times to make sure I was doing what I wanted. Almost missed my turn to 63 while I was eating. Found a nice route to 80 but had to take my time to pick the right unmapped doubletrack. And think I bumbled the order of 52 and 72 but maybe not.
Also spent a lot of time working with the thumb compass. Some time it was worth the attention. In some cases maybe not necessary but good practice for now. I didn't like having the compass with all the time I spent packing my bag with controls. It is a nuisance in those scenarios.
Dropped the first 7 controls at the Water station. Dropped the next 22 at the dam. Michael cleared the last 10 so I didn't have to grab them. But it made confirming I was in the right spot harder.
Ripped a huge gash in the thigh of my tights at hour 5. Was surprised they didn't rip more and stayed put. I did get cut a lot on my thigh though.

Pandaplace w/Skip.
Legs we well rested from 2 days off and pretty much a week off before that. Decent time and didn't push the pace really at all. Fastest time in over a year.
