WUOC Middle Distance:
Yay, I entered and finished a race here at WUOC, and I'm happy about having been able to do it!
It was quite a fun course, super fast, but with definitely some interesting technical challenges, especially in the green.
I'm injured, with my IT-band hurting pretty bad even during the race, yet I was able to slow-jog most of it, stopped only once to stretch and regroup when I was hurting too much, and everything remained together all-right so that I was even able to almost sprint from the last control to the finish. Of course I'm disappointed I could not push hard and do my best, but I would have been even more disappointed by coming here and just spectating.
The goal was max 1min30sec of mistake time today, and I was clean all of the race except control 17 in the green, where I definitely lost exactly around that amount getting confused by the women's control, relocating and re-attacking mine.
So yea, overall a positive day, I didn't get more hurt than I already am, and I think I can also slow-jog the relay tomorrow while keeping my navigation efficient and clean.
After that I'll definitely stop running indefinitely until I re-find my leg-health again. It's not that fun to run only giving 50% of what you can give.
