First time in a long long time doing an orienteering training during the week on a good map on technical terrain. I wish all my weeks had a day like this. We went on Olivier's map, he lives on it on the Vercors at around 1000m altitude. Great woods, a beautiful view of Grenoble and of the surrounding mountains, and good company during training. I don' t think i could have asked for more for a Wednesday evening. We (me, Sim, Theo) ate there and descended back to the city listening to PSG-Chelsea on the radio.

Orienteering race 40:10 [3]

1st Italian Cup: MD
Another good sign of improvement. 6~+ minutes from WOC bronze Misha Mamleev, finally starting to be somewhat competitive on the results list. Here too there is still much work to do, a lot of my legs were only approximately well executed and filled with small imprecisions, deviations, hesitations. I ran hard though, and, except from the uphills, started feeling almost ready for a race like this one. Seems like I should increase my map trainings, especially at high speed.
Overall a great weekend of training and racing, with Olivier BT coming along from France too. Now i'll take a break from Italian running, with Swiss-land and then France in the next two weekends.

Long Run 1:10:00 [3] +600m

Afternoon, after the race but before the beer, we went for a nice run to the top of one of the nearby mountains. Started on some trails, then up a river gorge and then straight up a hillside. Finally made it back on a trail going to the top. Great view of all of the surrounding areas and the finish area of the race afar in the distance. Wish I had a camera for the most classic of mountaintop group shots.
