First real session with the new roller things. You strap your regular shoes into these, except most of my shoes are too wide. The 200mm wheels are huge and pretty smooth anywhere on the road. The heels lift up, but not actually enough for classic technique. They do have reverse locks, so you can sort of shuffle along if you really want to. They are quite heavy, but so are my legs, so I didn’t really notice. Brakes on each side but I didn’t really need them today. They only track straight, and I have a tendency to fall over to the outside, which I guess happens to me in the winter too. Anyway this resulted in one crash, but zero scrapes due to gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and padded shorts. Maybe pulled a butt muscle though, a little sore. Overall it was fun. Not coordinated enough for a real workout yet.
