L Knee, Other

2006-10-03 – 2007-08-15

Grade: 3

Left knee is sore, likely due to shoes nearing retirement.

13 October 2006
doctor's diagnosis: patellofemoral pain syndrome (no ligament or arthritis issues)

27 November 2006
I have successfully increased my training mileage. Therefore, I am marking my knee injury as recovered. However, it is still DIFFICULT to kneel on left knee. Until next season, my training runs will be on forgiving surfaces and at the slower pace. The slower pace and chronic knee pain may simply be realities of aging. To be able to snowshoe and mountain race, I would gladly reduce my training pace.

05 April 2007
I am marking myself as injured. The pain in the interior front portion of my left knee never left completely. Today, the pain is significant enough that my walking pace is effected: limping. I will stay on the DL until I am pain free. I may see doctor upon return from NL.

I'm clearing this injury as recovered only because today's doctor visit confirmed incorrect diagnosis!

Don't run in worn out shoes.
