Knee, Iliotibial Band Syndrome

2018-12-30 – 2019-03-11

Grade: 4

Tightness across the knee where the IT insertion point is. Running and walking downstairs give a sharp pain. Tight glutes, hips and back as well. Cycling, swimming, and skiing are pretty good. Elliptical is not great. I end with stiffness in the knee that is persistent throughout the rest of the day. Stretching out the glutes sometimes helps but not always. Took 2.5 weeks off and only did commuter cycling and the occasional ski. Things felt better but still some tightness. There is little to no sharp pain, only a duller tight feeling across my knee.

I think taking time off helped as well as being patient. Finding other activities like skiing definitely helped mentally with the setback. I still need to work on my hip and glute mobility.
