R Hip/Pelvis, Other

2018-09-26 – 2019-01-27

Grade: 1

Tight right psoas. First noticed issue with my right hip in late September. Phil treated me twice and found tight psoas on 10th November. Told me how to locate and release it myself.

15/11
Oh dear my right psoas is still sore despite two sessions with Phil. I could tell it had reacted after the run (or was it the leg raises?) on Monday. Logged as injury backdated to late September.

9/12
I have developed a sore right foot (top) in the last week or so. Not sure why or how. Possibly extensor tendinitis.

18/12
90 mins sports rehab therapy with Tom. He found tightness on both sides in my hips, quads (esp rectus femoris), piriformis and ITB/TFL. The recent foot problem is likely related, so need to do plenty of streching, some running and work the top of my feet (but not too much). He also recommended using a hard ball in my hips and buttocks.

4/1/19
Second session with Tom. Two hours of deep massage. Glutes especially sore.

Felt good after two consecutive runs this weekend. Total 36 km and decent pace. Let that be a lesson about adequate rest and repair after a season of guiding!
