L Knee, Iliotibial Band Syndrome

2013-08-25 – 2014-02-05

Grade: 4

Irritation from the last 15 (30?) miles of Cascade Crest. The needles and the very last descent sure hyper aggravated this.

I am convinced this was exacerbated by my Hoka shoes. They collapse more to the inside than any other shoes I have so most likely they are not good for long runs. Ironic that.

After being able to run stairs in the AM and then the Fleet Feet run in the PM two weeks in a row I am calling this 'healed'. It's not literally 100% healed but it's 70% and I am well on my way to a full recovery.

Turns out it was not the actual IT band, rather it was some tissue _under_ the IT band that got irritated. It took an ultra sound scan (the MRI did not see it) to figure that out.
