Grade: 3
A bit of a strain in Ausgust turned into a pretty strong pain last time I ran on Black Mountain at the end of the month, only managing 18 easy minutes before the rest of the calf started to ball up. Haven;t tried even a jog in the couple of weeks since and am no longer feeling it walking. Stretching before and after each ride seems to help and I've done a couple of sets fo calf raises t otest it out in the past couple of days which have gone pretty well. trying to hold out until weekend of sept 10-11 for a run.
Rested for two weeks after it reached its peak in Canberra on the base of Black Mountain. Stretched it a fair bit after about 4 days of nothing at all. Did some calf raises about 10 days in. Kept riding at high intensity. First "run" back was jogging on teh spot in the house, barefoot, as a tester, and this gave me confidence that things were coming good. Felt it a little on a ride on day late in the second week and decided that it was time to strengthen it with some short runs. Each run has felt better than the last, even at a medium intensity. Now will try to lower intensity and lengthen duration to an hour a few times a week, then get back to the run commute.
