| 1. | +02:30 | Should have run the trail for a bit, but started on the straight line and had trouble following it, coming out at the road at a different place than I thought. Got a little confused after I crossed, and hit Red#1 before pressing on and finding it. | |||||
| 2. | +16:00 | Disaster. Instead of going up one of the larger reentrants, tried to follow yellow and read smaller reentrants along the way. Hit Red#2, which seemed to be in the right place for my #2, and then lost contact. Eventually wandered N and then W and found an orange control, wandered some more and found the orange control again and then ran into Mario. Figured out where I was and headed back E and found Red #2 again. Bailing out and heading to the road and found a little patch of yellow that looked like the piece just above the control, so dropped down and got it. | |||||
| 3. | Uneventful. Got a bit too far left. | ||||||
| 4. | Pretty straight. Got on the big spur and followed it up. Spike! | ||||||
| 5. | Pretty straight. reading well all the way in. | ||||||
| 6. | Again a straight route. Saw boulder on prior spur with control on it and could hit it right on compass. | ||||||
| 7. | Straight, looking for little reentrant. | ||||||
| 8. | Headed for trail around big rock feature, and cut off once past to go through yellow patches and on compass at end. | ||||||
| 9. | +03:00 | South across road and down big reentrant around cliffs to the right. Better route was up smaller reentrant to left of cliffs. Once past cliffs, up reentrant to look for saddle, but got in saddle one line lower and to the E and couldn't figure it out because I didn't see that saddle on the map. Chatted up Piutepro for a while and saw another control, but eventually figured it out. | |||||
| 10. | Down yellow drainage to the end of the rocks on the right, then across spur and looking for W facing spur and spiked it. | ||||||
| 11. | Into arroyo behind Swampfox, who was coming from another direction. Under rocky area to the S and on compass. No problem. | ||||||
| 12. | Saw people at control, so a fast leg. | ||||||
| 13. | +03:30 | Others went more to the right. I headed S and under the rocks and did the killer climb over the bare spur. Attack point wasn't great and I spent time hunting in the cliffs short of the control and a line or two higher. Finally relocated off creek. | |||||
| 14. | Reasonably straight, picking up trail for a short segment. | ||||||
