Boulder Dash: Red Day 2

GlenT

1. Around the green, up the reentrant, past the marsh, up the hill.
2. +03:00Headed NW intending to follow along W side of big marsh but lost contact and wandered a bit. Eventually headed north for a while then cliombed west to the top of the ridge and found the pond about 200m E of the control. More or less the route I had intended, but slow because I wasn't sure exactlya where I was until I found the pond.
3. Left of green, aiming between the western and middle pond. Hit the break just about right on, off the end of the green marsh, along the ridge between the two yellow swamps, then N to hit Shaw trail near the bend. Crossed the wall near the boulders and headed down the reentrant to the boulder (once I realized it wasn't on a spur).
4. E toward the hill, around it to the N passing S of the first cliff, N of the next cliff and up the long reentrant.
5. Started out thinking I was headed for 6, but checked the map when I crossed a wall I didn't expect. Attacked from the wall junction and came through the green to spike the middle reentrant.
6. Down to the trail, off the tip of the marsh and up the hill. The boulders on the top of the hill pointed nicely to the control.
7. WAcross the stream and wall then W of the swamp, up to the pond. Read the two spurs with dot knolls and headed up the hill to spike this one.
8. +01:00Headed E to the big trail then ran to the junction and down to the trail bend. After being alone at 7, there were suddenly about 6 of us heading for 8 at this point. Drifted a bit left but then spotted the water jugs (and people drinking).
9. +03:00Sloshed through the marsh behind Jeff Saeger, both of us commenting aloud that "There used to be a trail here." S to the tip of the lake, climb the hill, spotted the four boulders below the hill NE of the control. Proceeded into the saddle to the S and checked that boulder, than wandered around a bit eventually getting back to the western of the four boulders. I decided it might be a good idea to actually use this boulder as an attack point and use the compass to point me in the right direction.
10. +02:00Went right of Seahorse Swamp. Thought I passed between Seahorse and the smaller green marsh, but lost contact so wasn't positive. Continued on a SW bearing trying to read features to positively locate. Eventually hit the E-W trail, ran E to the junction, S to the big boulder then S to the saddle.
11. W to the road, staying N of the green, trail to the building, through the woods to the control.
