| 6. | Headed off too far to the right, almost north. Continued to the right of the line, eventually hit the fence near the stone wall, and had no trouble from there. | ||||||
| 7. | Was doing fine for the first 75% of the leg, then turned right crossing the stream, and wound up near the fence again. Easy to correct from there. | ||||||
| 8. | Drifted a little right climbing the hill, no problem correcting, but it meant some extra distance. | ||||||
| 9. | Had the dot knoll circled instead of the cliff, but I could see the control from the dot knoll. | ||||||
| 10. | Got to the reentrant, but didn't see the control (hung low) for a few moments. | ||||||
| 11. | No idea where I was ggoing on this leg, but I was going the right way. Got to the circle, and wondered why the cliff wasn't on the map (it is, but it's drawn awfully skinny). Didn't see the boulder next to the cliff, thought I must be in the wrong place, and headed SW to figure out where I was. Found the other clearings, knew exactly where I was, and headed backto the same spot from a different direction, and saw the boulder and the control this time. Commented to Sam Levitin that it was weird that the cliff wasn't on the map, and he said it was on the map. Looked more closely and saw it, but then I checked the code on the flag, and it was wrong, so I figured, damn, I am in the wrong place. Headed east a bit, and the unmistakable contours on the hilltop made it clear that I was in the right place, so I went back and punched, figuring that either there was a mistake on the cluesheet, or else I had miscopied the circle. | ||||||
| 12. | Trail to north of the control, then overshot by one reentrant. | ||||||
| 13. | Kristin was here looking puzzled, and I noted that this control had the wrong code. But it wasn't on her course anyway, I think. | ||||||
| 14. | To the right of the crud -- there was a small trail through most of the medium green. | ||||||

| 18. | Dirt road to paved road, attacked from just about directly east of the control | ||||||
| 19. | Skidder trails through the crud, popped out at the right spot, but had to pause for a moment before looking at the right place in the "clearing". | ||||||
| 20. | Great plan, decided to attack from the trail to the north, just beyond where it crosses the reentrant. But the white woods in there aren't so white any more, and I wound up hitting the trail that's east of the control. Should have just run down that trail in the first place. | ||||||
