1.		The route will be here in due time. I punched all controls, and kept splits with my Polar S625X.

6.		I thought this one came up too soon.
7.	Bad map reading Bad compass work +00:40	After leaving Control 6, there was still quite a bit of the darker forest remaining to the left. So I thought I had following the dark forest way past the corner, and needed to bounce off to the right. Bounced; went into some little fir trees with no rock features. Stopped, reassessed the situation, went W and found it.

15.	Bad map reading +00:15	Went too far right. Tim caught up for the last time.

29.		Saw Pavlina for the first time coming into this one. She was about 40% of a leg ahead.
30.		Pavlina tells me she han't seen any blue-striped controls yet.

32.		Passed Pavi on this one. The control was not at the center of the circle, so as I was reading the control description, she caught up.

37.		Went quite wide on this one. Still ahead of Pavlina.
38.		Some more people were at this control... Mary Jones, pretty sure about that.

41.		Head-to-head with Pavlina. The pace by now has picked up.

44.	Bad map reading +00:30	Trying to pull away from Pavlina, I misinterpret some marshes and for about 15 seconds, study my map. Bummer.
45.		Now, racing hard to catch Pavlina...
46.		... which means submersion. At the swamp crossing, my map and punch card got all filthy. The punch card stayed filthy through the end; I tried to wash it at water stops, and wasn't particularly successful. The dirt imbedded iteslf into punch holes and beneath the fish protection layer. Saw Pavlina on the far side (of the swamp).

55.		I go wid-ish right on this one, and Pavlina is right behind me again.

61.		As I pass Pavi back, there it is: the first blue-striped control.

65.		... and I tell that to Pavlina, who is quite a bit off on #64.
66.	Read map too late +00:20	As I go down the spur, I make two unsuccessful attempts to get down the impassable cliff. I always do that, being so reactive. These attempts cost me a bit, but I'm holding off Pavlina.
