1. | Intended to go straight, but used compass instead of contours -- ended up at the river and had to climb back up.
2. | pretty much straight
3. | went pretty much in a straight line, then found myself at a rock wall/fence corner which looked like nothing on the map (that's because the fence was down on one side). Around this time I was feeling woozy -- (heat? over-caffeination? over-hydration? under-nourishment) which caused me to wander around. I almost packed it in, but remembered I had a similar experience in RI this year, which went away. So I focused and presse d on.
4. | Found some thick green to wade through...
5. | After crossing the stream on the trail, up by the triple-rocks + reentrant, then straight. My pace count left me short, but I continued on to the brook, finding the double hill.
6. | Picked my way around left side of marsh.
7. | |||||||
8. | |||||||
9. | Thanks, Charlie, for cutting a path through the green. Slog, slog, slog up the hill.
10. | |||||||
11. | Misreading the contours, went a little too low before hitting the trail, but then had no trouble (followed trails -- the control was visible from the small one).
F. | Went a little further left than I thought and was momentarily confused when I hit the trail. Took me a few seconds to figure out to go south to the dam. |
