US Team - Kingswood: Sprint

| 1. | I didn't realize that this would be age group mass started. I took off first from my group but I went on the left side of the building like the last two groups instead of the right side which was more direct. The rest of the group went right. | ||||||

| 4. | This one was almost in a straight line with #5 so when I glanced at it, I saw #5 and ran toward it instead. This put me last in my age group. | ||||||

| 10. | Chasing the group with Ted Good ahead, I stuck with him as Vadim and Chuck went left and off the map. I closed the gap and got there right behind Ted. | ||||||

| 12. | Still right behind Ted, I ran with him past the control. | ||||||

| 15. | Oops. It just didn't click that I had another loop to go even though I knew I hadn't done 18 controls. I figured Ted and I would finish together but he seemed to slow-up before getting there. I went ahead back to the start. Behind me, Ted went down the hill to the control. After realizing this with Wyatt, I readied myself for another round of chasing Ted and dropped down to the control. | ||||||
| 16. | Ted took us right there using the trail. | ||||||
| 17. | We went around the green though I was tempted as the meet notes said I would be, to go straight across. | ||||||
| 18. | I wasn't gaining much on Ted. | ||||||
| F. | Ted was too far ahead and going too fast for me to catch up. I'm not sure whether I even gained or not. We went through the lower parking lot as we did to #15 and went around to the right of the building. Left would have been better and I might have had a chance to catch Ted if I'd have reailzed it. This was fun. The quick decision making, short steep hills and mass start was daunting. |
