| 1. | +04:00 | Up the trail a bit then across the reentrant, going by the stone wall fragment in the marsh, thinking I was going well, but lost it near the circle and did a lot of wandering. Several others in the area, all searching. Tough control. | |||||
| 2. | +01:00 | Just left of line, crossing the trail at the reentrant. Up and checking off knolls, but got confused a line too high and stopped for a bit. | |||||
| 3. | Down under the cliffs and then on trail for a bit. Through the marsh and to the stone wall to the junction, then on compass and reading the features well. | ||||||
| 4. | +01:00 | Stayed low and then up the reentrant that ends in the marsh, but it didn't look particularly marshy, so stood around a while confused before heading on to the next reentrant and the bag. | |||||
| 5. | Through the marsh and down the reentrant to the wall and along the wall. Bearing from the end of wall and under the round cliff and spiked it. | ||||||
| 6. | On line to the trail, but trail seemed to end, so across the rocky knoll to pick up the trail lower. Trail to half way between the stone walls and then up on compass and climbing before the cliff. Saw Marie passing lower down and going the long way around the cliff. Arrived at the same time. | ||||||
| 7. | +05:00 | Along the stone wall and planning to pick up the trail, but didn't see it. Marie was ahead and I stopped concentrating to try to catch up. She went up first ridge and I followed her there, wandering for a while before relocating. | |||||
| 8. | More or less along the line to the trail near the jct. NE from jct on trail past ruin then straight in. | ||||||
| 9. | Greg B came in behind me at 8 and got a better line out and disappeared. Down eastern trail past cliffs then angled up, catching up a bit to Greg there. | ||||||
| 10. | +02:00 | Tried to get down cliffs but it wasn't working, so worked my way through logging slash to western trail then trail to corner and then E along stone wall to low spot on big ridge. Up and over, down to the streambed, the NW to trail, trail to sharp bend, but got hung up in laurel and missed control to the left. Hit dry marsh and had to come back. | |||||
| 11. | Back through dry marsh and under long knoll on left until it started to dip, then angled up into control. Spike. | ||||||
| 12. | Another spike, a little right of line but reading all the little knolls. | ||||||
| 13. | Spike again. Across broad spur looking for reentrant and stone on right side. | ||||||
| 14. | Up the stream past wet marsh and dry one, over spur with cliffs and by end of stone wall. On compass to where trail bends W, then to jct, but lost the trail there and eventually just headed SW. Seemed to take forever. Lots of thick stuff and going very slowly. Finally up along stone wall segment going SW and around foot of big cliff, up and onto knoll with control. So directly to it, but not a very efficiently executed route. | ||||||
| 15. | +00:45 | Trail, jumping off at what seemed to be the right place, but I was too far S and had to look for it a bit. | |||||
| 16. | +02:00 | Out to trail and by #19. Up trail for a bit then angled to stream bed, which was pretty indistinct. A bit of wandering too far W and then back and in. | |||||
| 17. | +01:00 | Generally well executed until right at the end. Through the dry marsh and over the trail and the NS knoll, angling around to come in below, but got below the clff just W of the circle and hit the trail. Had to climb back up and over. | |||||
